And so, the Yolkin macaron ice-cream sandwich was created.

When Kitty went, these were the flavours for her to choose from: As her stomach space was limited, and these macaron ice-creams are massive, Kitty could only choose two flavours to try.

Sharp lemon flavours paired with the creamy ice-cream.

Salted Caramel Brownie (£4.80) – there were chocolate brownie bits within the ice-cream making this extra yummy.

Review: YOLKIN Macaron Ice Cream – Enjoy by Paula

So I have been lusting over this amazing YOLKIN instagram page of delicious macaron ice cream sandwiches for the past year, but never actually tried them, until this weekend- Jonas and I had planned to go to London and I knew I had to try them!

What’s great about YOLKIN is that it’s a small company and the macarons are so soft and chewy and the ice-cream is actually made from the yolks that are left over from making the macaron shells!

The eggs are free-range and the four flavours available change each week!

Their Instagram page and Facebook page both update each Tuesday what the flavours of the week will be and you can pick them up right next to Piccadilly circus on Saturdays and Sundays form 12pm!

Definitely a treat, but I decided to enjoy this after a couple of very healthy weeks for me 🙂 Let me know if you have tried YOLKIN- if not, please do since It was one of the best street foods I have tried in London!

This is no different in the case of Yolkin founder Sammie Le, with her one woman team of outstanding macaroon ice cream sandwiches.

Titled as the UK’s first and ONLY macaroon ice cream sandwiches, Sammie really drew us in with her amazing flavours, simultaneously creating a niche in the market and filling it perfectly.Flavours change every week her most memorable including her signature red velvet, creamy cheese frosting flavoured ice cream, adorned with vibrant scarlet crumbs.

She posts the following weekends flavours every Tuesday, creating such a buzz that as 12 pm strikes on Saturday there’s already a long queue of people awaiting their first mouthful of the legendary macaroon sandwiches.

I tasted the red velvet and it was even better, its thick cream cheese ice-cream the perfect balance, not too sweet not too savoury.

Its macaroon shell sweeps you off your feet with its beautifully crisp outer and its chewy sweet inner.Making macaroons is a delicate act which requires such precision.Factors such as quality of ingredients, temperature, and humidity can all spell disaster for an anxious baker but sammie’s macaroons are uniform, delicate and the perfect accompaniment to her incredible ice cream fillings.

Hunan: London's A+ Chinese Restaurant With No Menu (But ...

Essentially, you can expect a chef’s tasting menu with an added element of surprise, with endless, excellent, tapas-size portions of food that are perfect for sharing – or fighting over.

The ever-changing, top-secret menu is put together each day by the distinguished Mr Peng and his expert team of chefs, who will dish up fifteen to eighteen plates, until you can no longer do up the button on your trousers.

Established in 1982 by Chef Peng himself, Hunan prides itself on showcasing an innovative selection of Chinese food, heavily influenced by the cuisine of Taiwan.

We were greeted by Michael, Mr Peng’s son, who told us that his father was still very actively involved in the daily running of the restaurant, despite his age.

So much so that we even left with a newly purchased copy of Hunan: A Lifetime of Secrets from Mr Peng’s Chinese Kitchen, Chef Peng’s cookery book, featuring some of the dishes we sampled.

But it’s fair to say there isn’t much sign of life down this little side-street after dark.

This is Little Quiet, a new venture from Disappearing Dining Club that’s not so much low-key as no-key.

Seating just sixteen people, this is the perfect place to hatch a conspiracy, or exchange your most scurrilous gossip, all while tucking into some excellent food.

– DDC’s head chef Fredrik Bolin delivers a short menu comprised of delicious little plates, each as loudly lovely as the venue is quiet.

And as you’re wondering, here was the menu on the night we visited… All in all, this is a dead smart place to take someone, that will make you look terribly in-the-know, and allow the two of you to discreetly plot world domination while you eat some perfect plates together.

London Restaurant Review - Punjab in Covent Garden

Though it soon moved to Covent Garden (convenient for sightseeing, theater going and West End shopping), the owners have stayed true to their roots, building a loyal following with good, unpretentious and authentic food.

Serendipity on a Rainy AfternoonI wandered into Punjab and tried its scrumptiously old fashioned North Indian food almost by accident.

The array of chicken, lamb, fish, prawn and vegetarian dishes includes a Tandoori selection for those who like their Indian food explosive.

I chose Butter Chicken, a classic Punjabi dish of chicken, marinated in spiced yogurt and then simmered on the bone in a sauce of tomatoes, butter and cream, seasoned with cumin and coriander seeds, cayenne pepper and crushed cardamom.

I had to reserve a table but was able to book just a few days before and was informed on the phone that i could have the table for 1.5 hours, which is more than enough time for breakfast.

The Breakfast Menu features lots of pastries and plenty of English options including a bacon and fried egg roll, kippers (fish), and the traditional full English fried breakfast.
